Going Live on Youtube
Happy New Year.... And here's the New Year's Resolution.....
Going live on Youtube has been a thing that I have wanted to do for a few years. Being in the culinary industry meant that I worked long hours, and just never had the means to put it all together. I am letting everybody know that I WILL be working hard on my Blog, and dusting off my camera gear for more stunning photos. But also, this weekend, I will be going live on Youtube for the very first time. I posed a question to my Facebook friends and family, as well as on The Food Boat Discord. What would be a good first live stream?
This is the itinerary:
- Pickled Red Onions has been chosen for the first. There is a story that goes with it, so you'll have to listen to the funny story. These onions are EPIC.
- Shenanigans and Questions and Answers.
- Part 1 of Gluten Free Baking, and how I've developed my own ratios. Whether we make a batch of cookie dough on this night is solely dependent on how much fun we're having with the first two.
- Part 2 of Gluten Free Baking will be the actual cookie dough making. We will immediately bake off a pan of cookies so that you can see the difference in texture.
- Part 3 of Gluten Free Baking will be baking off a pan of cookies so that you can see the difference in the texture from the night before.
What? What do you mean?
Gluten Free Cookies do best when the dough has had an opportunity to rest overnight. So, we are going to bake off some cookies from the batch and then refrigerate the rest overnight and come back the next day to do a follow-up and comparison.
This is the really fun part... These cookies will be reduced sugar. The ratios will be discussed in the stream. I like to create what I call 'sugar confusion', where a mix of sugar substitutes along with some traditional brown sugar is used. This creates an interesting cookie that has the sweetness to satisfy the sweet tooth, but at the same time may not spike your blood sugar.
It is my intent to provide you with entertainment while not sounding too polished. Meaning, I'm not going to shove any kind of foodie agenda down your throat. This is intended to be for foodies that love food, that love to cook food, that love to watch food being cooked, and wants a sense of community. I don't subscribe to fad diets, and not going to preach about the benefits of organic, vegan, blah blah blah.
So, I hope that you enjoy. This will be happening on Saturday and Sunday. So please, go to Youtube at THIS LINK, and Subscribe. I hope to see you there.
